Management Development Programme 2018 - 2020

We are delighted to be working with the Hendy Group to develop and deliver their in-house quality assured Management Development Programme (MDP).

​

The Hendy Group is a multi-brand vehicle sales, service and fleet company with sites covering the south of England. It’s a family business with a long history and a reputation for forward thinking.

​

Hendy were looking for a programme to grow the managerial skills and capacity of 120 of their first-line managers and team leaders – people already in management roles and people with the potential to step up to management and leadership positions in future. They needed something that would be engaging and immediately useful to people working in different areas of the business and with different backgrounds and levels of experience.  A Group-wide framework and way of working that would provide professional development opportunities and practical ‘real-time’ support in managing individuals and teams.

Not finding a suitable ‘off the shelf’ product, the Group’s owner and senior management team asked us to design something new.  We worked with them and the Hendy Academy to develop a modular programme that combines group workshops, workplace assignments and individual coaching - and is quality assured by the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI).

 

The workshops and assignments provide taught content and tools, with opportunities for managers to apply learning and work together on management situations, challenges and solutions. The 1:1 coaching sessions work on each person’s specific development needs and interests, focusing on Emotional Intelligence and those all-important interpersonal (‘soft’) skills.

We delivered the first workshops in April 2018 and we got some unsolicited feedback the next day:
